BLOG
Who would have guessed that a tiny little status update on my Facebook page 2 months ago about
there being a "weak link" in F.I.S.T. would blossom into a match made in heaven.
Sitting there in the aisle at King of Trios 2010, watching F.I.S.T. vs. Team Osaka Pro, I noticed something. I noticed that F.I.S.T.
just wasn't the same. Something was...different. When Osaka Pro pulled out the upset of the year, my suspicions were validated. I just couldn't
put my finger on it though, but I KNEW something or SOMEONE was to blame. I just didn't know who...
As the weeks progressed, things started becoming a little clearer. F.I.S.T. was still losing and no one could figure out why. Why was
this once great trio, all of a sudden, nothing more than a few glorified jabrones? I didn't know why...
Blogs were posted, fingers were being pointed and blame was tossed around like a hot potato and really at the end of the day, NOTHING got fixed.
There was still a problem. I didn't know what it was...
Then came the big day...July 25th, 2010. Chikarasaurus Rex: King of Show. CHIKARA's biggest event ever. This was F.I.S.T.'s chance.
They were taking on some of Dragon Gate's finest. They had a chance to make a statement. To prove the last couple months were nothing
more than flukes. To put all of the bickering and whatnot behind them and prove that F.I.S.T. would be as dominant in the future
as they have been in the past. But that didn't happen.
F.I.S.T. lost. More specifically, Gran Akuma lost.
As I sat in the aisleway, the pieces of the puzzle all came together in my head. When Akuma's shoulders hit that mat for the 1-2-3... I got
in the ring, and just by looking at him...just by looking in his eyes...I knew. Better yet...WE knew. We knew what was causing the problem.
We knew why this was happening. We knew who was to blame. So we did what had to be done.
Gran Akuma was the weak link and WE eliminated him. Sure, the old F.I.S.T. was good with Gran Akuma. But guess what? The old New England Patriots
were good with Drew Bledsoe...then they let Tom Brady play, and became a DYNASTY. Sometimes you have to make tough decisions for the future.
Luckily, this decision was a very easy one. I'm 22 years old and I'm reaching my peak. With me, the possibilities are endless! F.I.S.T. will
achieve things they've never thought possible. F.I.S.T. will be the most dominant team ever assembled. I can assure you of that.
Gone are the day's of arguing and finger-pointing and passive aggressive blogging.
F.I.S.T. just got an upgrade, and you're looking at him. Bigger, stronger, faster. Gran Akuma's F.I.S.T. hit a
wall...Johnny Gargano's will bust through it.
